Ruya is a Turkish-American artist and writer with experience in TV production. Born in Florida but raised in Istanbul, Ruya moved to Atlanta to attend Emory University and earned a Bachelor's in Film and Media Studies. After graduating into the pandemic, working as a preschool teacher for a few years, and self-publishing two children's books, Ruya then moved to Los Angeles in 2026 to attend UCLA's Professional Program in Screenwriting.

 

She used to get in trouble for drawing instead of paying attention in class, so she has decided to take revenge by focusing her career on art. 

 

When she's not drawing or writing, she likes reading, making jewelry, learning dance choreographies, and walking her 150 pound dog. ​
